GURGAON: A nine-year-old boy was allegedly thrashed with a stick by his tuition teacher’s son in Sector 5 on Wednesday evening. The Class 4 student suffered multiple bruises.
“My son went to his tuition class around 4pm and I was at my office. When he returned home around 7.30pm, his aunt noticed bruises near his eyes and on palms. He also seemed scared.

Later, when his aunt unbuttoned his shirt to change his clothes, she was shocked to see bruises on his entire upper body. She then called me up, and I left for home,” the boy’s mother told TOI.
Initially, the boy did not talk about the incident as he was threatened by the teacher against revealing it to his family, said his mother. However, later, when coaxed, he said he was hit with a stick multiple times.
Subsequently, the child’s mother confronted the tutor, to which she maintained that beating up children was important in order to improve them.
“After learning about the incident, I confronted the tutor on Thursday, who stated that to improve the academic performance of children, it is important to beat them up and that she had done the same with her children too,” the complainant said.
Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered against the tutor’s son under sections of IPC and the Juvenile Justice Act.
